HICRON AND SAP ON TENDENCIES IN POLISH RETAIL TRADE15/04/11 - Wroclaw/Warsaw
On April 14, 2011, HICRON and SAP Polska participated in the 12th International BestShop Retail Trade Forum in Warsaw. The conference focused on the issue of retail chain consolidation. The meeting gathered more than 100 representatives of companies recognized as having a key impact on the shape of the trade market. Discussions held during this year’s forum focused on consolidation processes and related challenges faced by commercial chains, as well as the trends and tendencies prevailing in the Polish retail trade. Based on it long-standing experience in the implementation of SAP solutions that facilitate management in the retail, sales and wholesale sector, HICRON lent substantive support to the conference. Robert Stiller and Michał Guzek, Business Solutions Architects in HICRON, addressed state-of-the-art IT solutions that meet the business needs of retail chains: SAP ERP, HICRON POS for sales management in points of sale and SAP RE-FX for real estate management. During their speech they emphasized the relations between business and IT technology. They also presented operational and strategic benefits gained by companies through the application of adequate IT solutions by making reference to the challenges and business objectives of the Retail, Sales and Wholesale sector. “The principal topic addressed at the conference related to the changes in the retail market in Poland, with special emphasize on the opportunities and threats related to consolidation. This issue was presented from various angles. Our role is to show the importance of selecting sufficiently advanced IT tools that will allow uninhibited growth of business, especially in the period of such dynamic changes as the consolidation of the IT market,” emphasizes Michał Guzek. Apart from HICRON, the speakers and panel members of this year’s BestShop Forum were joined by representatives of the management teams of such retail chains as Eurocash, BOMI, Dino, Grupa Muszkieterów or Chata Polska. The meeting was also attended by representatives of sectoral institutions, including the President of the Polish Organization of Commerce and Distribution. BestShop Forum holds a prestigious position among conferences organized in the Polish retail sector. The conference addresses such issues as the prospects, tendencies and trends in retail trade.
