HICRON participates in a global project of SAP PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) implementation in Andritz AG, Austria.

The SAP PLM environment will help the company design the systems more efficiently and improve information management in all Andritz branches around the world.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a process of managing the entire lifecycle of a product, from its conception, through design and manufacture, to after-sales service and even recycling. PLM integrates people, data, processes and business systems, increasing the productivity and efficiency of the enterprise. The benefits arising from the implementation of SAP PLM environment in Andritz AG include expedited product manufacturing processes, support to logistics processes, enhanced production quality and reduced manufacturing costs.

HICRON’s contribution to the SAP PLM project involved modeling and implementing a project document management system (from the conception of a new product until after-sales support), implementing solutions for the management of batch numbering and quality control of materials and development of additional functionalities concerning material master data. The overall solution proposed to Andritz was designed in a state-of-the-art application architecture based on design templates and multi-layer architecture.

The complexity of the project was associated with the need to integrate SAP PLM with third-party software. HICRON experts were responsible for the integration of CAD-type systems (MATRIX and COMOS) with SAP to enable exchange of material data and structures and various kinds of documents.
