SAP - A WORDLWIDE LEADER ON THE BI MARKET28/04/11 - Wroclaw/Warsaw
SAP AG has announced that, according to the recent Gartner report, it has been named the market share leader in the worldwide market of BI solutions (Business Intelligence). SAP’s market share is nearly a quarter of the entire market. The data come from the Gartner report, published in April 2010, - “Market Share Analysis: Business Intelligence, Analytics and Performance Management, 2010, Worldwide". The combined market for BI solutions comprises Business Intelligence platforms, CPM solutions (corporate performance management), analytical applications and performance management. According to the report, SAP has ranked No. 1 in this market segment, with 23% market share based on revenue, reflecting a 16,8% growth from 2009. “Our business analytics solutions help people, teams and entire organizations to operate in a smarter way” – said Steve Lucas, SAP Business Analytics managing director. It is greatly satisfying to see that a leading analyst company, such as Gartner, has confirmed SAP as a leader in the business analytics market. Our development in this market segment has exceeded the growth of the market itself. This proves that our clients perceive SAP as a trusted business partner that helps companies get back on the path of growth. We not only provide innovative technologies, help clients apply them to solve real business challenges, but also provide support in obtaining information in real time, as well as in using various tools to utilise data, building flexible value chains and realising tasks not feasible before. This allows our clients to better understand opportunities and risks so that they can take coordinated actions to events as they are happening. With the help of our technology and business expertise our clients can go beyond what they have originally planned.” According to the Gartner report,”The Global recession that has swept through the world, had a decisive impact on markets, paralyzing them for a while, especially in the first half of 2009. Even though the overall IT spending was down, the BI market grew by 4,2 percent in 2009. In 2010, the global resurgence from stimulus packages, general improvement in the macro economy and new product releases contributed to a growth in spending. As a result, software sales accelerated and grew to 13.4 percent in 2010. Since BI spending has far exceeded IT budget growth overall for several years, it is obvious that BI continues to be a technology at the center of information-driven initiatives in organizations." The same report Gartner estimated the overall BI market value at $10.5 billion in 2010, marking a 13.4 % increase from the revenue of $9.3 billion in 2009. BI platforms were found to have a 63.7 % share in the overall worldwide BI market. CPM suites (corporate performance management) were found to have a 20.6 percent market share, and analytic applications and performance management software were found to have a 15.7 % market share. In 2010, SAP software revenue from all of the above mentioned segment types reached $2,4 billion, ranking SAP No.1 in the market.
