SAP system upgrade at Play

In July 2011 HICRON’s consultants started implementation works connected with the upgrade of SAP ERP system at PLAY. The project, broken down into two phases, includes migration of the system to a new, more efficient platform and technical upgrade of SAP ERP and Enterprise Portal.

PLAY’s staff will start working on the new hardware platform still this year, whereas the new version of SAP will be available in March, 2012. The functional scope of SAP ERP system used by Play includes the following areas: finance and controlling (FI/FIAA, TR, CO), investment management (PS/IM), materials management and procurement (MM), sales and distribution (SD), plant maintenance (PM), human resources management (HR, PA/PY). Upgrade of SAP ERP carried out by HICRON shall enable Play to use the most current version of the software supported by SAP, it shall improve efficiency of transactions and reporting while increasing at the same time opportunities for further functional development of the system.

Design works will consist in exporting the system to a new platform and performing all actions necessary to upgrade the SAP ECC system from version ECC 5 to ECC 6.05, EP from version 7.0 to 7.01, Solution Manager from version 7.0 to version 7.01, also upgrade of SAP BW and XI solutions. The first phase of works, i.e. migration of the solution to a new platform, shall be completed in Q4 2011. During the second phase of the project, the task of HICRON consultants shall be to upgrade the system to a new version, make tests and provide post-implementation support. This phase shall last till June, 2012.
