SAP systems monitoring 24/7 – with Hicron’s custom tool

It is widely known that it is better to prevent an error than to fix it later. It is especially true for ERP systems, where even a short downtime can generate huge costs. So that your company can save both money and time, Hicron has prepared a custom tool that detects errors before they damage the system in any way.

This custom solution for monitoring SAP systems 24/7 is HSMT – Hicron System Monitoring Tool. It was created back in 2015, and since then it has been constantly developed and improved to better protect our clients’ companies. Find out what benefits you can get with HSMT and how this solution can save your money and time of your internal IT team!

Continuous system monitoring

The tool constantly monitors system performance indicators. If any of the thresholds are exceeded, HSMT automatically issues a notification to the BASIS team. The action is immediate, because the tool is integrated with the ticket system used in our clients’ companies (Hicron Service Portal and its successor, Hicron Service Desk – Hicron SD).

After receiving the notification, the team proceeds to verify the potential errors. In this way, it is possible to introduce a correction immediately, even before the problem has a noticeable effect on the work with the SAP system. We do not allow users to encounter difficulties that may slow down their work or destroy its effects.

The scope of HSMT support

What indicators does Hicron constantly monitor? The list is very long and covers all critical areas of system operation. Among the supervised elements are:

  • system load;
  • database;
  • queuing control;
  • SAP update orders;
  • operating systems.

In addition to 24/7 monitoring, the tool generates daily reports on the state of the SAP system. Thanks to this, you get all the necessary data collected in one place, so you do not need to browse the system and examine each of its elements separately.

HSMT does not only protect your company from costly errors. It is also a great help for your internal IT team. The specialists can deal with introducing improvements or supporting users, instead of supervising the operation of the SAP system. If, on the other hand, they need specific data, they do not have to search the system logs – they can easily call them from the tool itself.

The work of outstanding specialists

The architect of the tool is an exceptional specialist from Hicron, Daniel Nowak, SAP BASIS Expert Consultant at Hicron. In his own words:

HSMT enables early identification of problems through the use of a large-scale monitoring system, thanks to which potential problems are eliminated early enough. As a consequence, it ensures high availability of the customer systems. Since the beginning of 2016, BASIS consultants have been using a new tool to monitor SAP systems, databases and resources on the side of operating systems on a daily basis.

From the very beginning, the tool streamlined work with customer systems and significantly accelerated the support offered by Hicron. As Michał Sarna, Technology Manager sums it up: “According to the principle, it is better to prevent than to cure, we are able to predict the symptoms of availability problems and react to them before they appear.”

We want to support clients’ systems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Therefore, the HSMT tool is available free of charge, under the system administration agreement with Hicron. Thanks to this, we can offer the highest class service, and at the same time provide customers with security and reduce – and often even eliminate! – the cost of fixing bugs.
