SAP is one of the most frequently used ERP systems for enterprise management. In 2025 the company will stop supporting older versions of the system. In order to stay up to date and be able to introduce, for example, artificial intelligence to their companies, enterprises should switch to the new version of the system – S4HANA.
The article also cites a report by IDC (“Worldwide Semiannual Digital Transformation Spending Guide”), according to which companies around the world are investing heavily in technology and services to enable the digital transformation of their organizations and business models.
The aforementioned SAP S/4HANA is an ERP system that allows you to run your business in real time. It processes company data in RAM, which makes the tool faster and eliminates delays caused by processing large amounts of data. In older ERP systems, they would arise quite often.
The article also mentions the main benefits of implementing S/4HANA, such as the ability to use new technologies in the company – solutions based on machine learning and artificial intelligence enable the automation of various activities. S4HANA also has a built-in analysis module that allows the user to make better decisions in less time.
Janusz Wawrzyniak also points out that the new Fiori interface, which is available not only on computers, but also on mobile devices, makes the system much easier to use.
Fiori lets you utilize mobile scenarios (e.g. for field task management or sales automation). As a result, employees are able to respond more quickly to tasks at any time and place, e.g. using a smartphone. The interviewee also mentioned that Fiori provides high-quality user experience, which gives the company real benefits, especially financial, resulting from more efficient work in the new interface, savings on training, and profits related to working on real-time data and completing tasks on time thanks to various notifications. Apart from that, there are also benefits for the employees – a good interface affects user satisfaction and commitment to work as well as mutual relations both within the company and with the IT department.
It is worth mentioning that by 2025 SAP will stop supporting older versions of the ERP system. Companies that want to continue using updates and new functionalities will have to implement S/4HANA before that date.
