What does SAP FICO stand for?

The name SAP FICO is a combination of two modules in the area of finance – SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and SAP Controlling (CO). Together, they create a coherent environment for corporate financial management. Among others, the provide:
• Faster settlement processes,
• Quicker preparation of financial statements,
• Simple adaptation of the system to current legal changes,
• Simplified reporting.

Which SAP module is for finance?

The module suitable for the finance department is SAP S/4HANA Finance, which significantly speeds up the settlement process as well as other financial and accounting operations. The implementation of SAP S/4HANA Finance means access to functionalities much wider than those available under its predecessor – the SAP FI module, typical for SAP ECC. By basing your system on the HANA database and functionalities such as Cash Management, Central Finance, New General Ledger, and the use of the Universal Journal available as part of SAP S/4HANA Finance, you can achieve synergy from the simultaneous implementation of all the elements of the finance and controlling mechanism and take the first step towards business transformation . As a result, you can benefit from full integration of the finance area, making decisions based on the most up-to-date financial data, simplified and accurate accounting, and the most advanced settlement tools.

Implementation of IFRS16 standards

In February 2017, the International Accounting Standards Board published a new International Financial Reporting Standard, “IFRS 16: Leasing”. The standard specifies the methods of presenting financial data, cash flows, fixed assets and their valuation. It also specifies which information has to be included in the financial statement. Polsat Group like other companies owning and leasing real estate properties was obliged to adjust their IT system to the new regulations.
